About Frndo
Frndo ("we", "our", or "us") is an expressive AI companion designed to listen like a friend. This Privacy Policy explains exactly how we handle your data when you use the Frndo application ("the app"). We believe privacy isn't a feature — it's a commitment.
Voice Data
- Your voice is transcribed on-device and never stored as audio
- No voice recordings are saved, transmitted, or retained on our servers
- Transcription happens locally on your device
Conversations and Memory
- Frndo remembers things you share — preferences, goals, people, and what you're working through
- Your conversations and memories are never used to train AI models
- You can search your memories and delete anything at any time
- Older or less relevant memories naturally surface less over time
What We Collect
We keep the minimum data needed to provide the service:
- Account information — such as your email address and avatar selection
- Conversation context — what Frndo needs to remember to be a good companion
- Anonymous safety logging — content category + timestamp + broad region only. No user ID. No message content
What We Never Do
- We never sell your personal information to third parties
- We never use your data for advertising or marketing purposes
- We never share conversation content with third parties
- We never store your voice as audio recordings
Your Rights
- Access — see what data we hold about you
- Delete — remove individual memories or your entire account
- Right to be forgotten — delete your account and your data goes with it. Completely
- Opt out — of any communications at any time
Crisis and Safety
If a conversation involves serious distress, Frndo will stay with you and help connect you with hotlines and local services. In these situations only, we log the content category and timestamp for safety purposes. No message content or user identity is included in safety logs.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of any material changes through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
