Delete your account and data

You can delete what Frndo knows about you at any time. There are three levels, from a single memory to your whole account.

Delete individual memories

In the app, search what Frndo remembers about you and delete any memory you want. You can also delete entries in your Diary, delete items from your product search history, or simply ask Frndo in conversation to forget something. Things you ask Frndo to forget stop being used right away and are permanently deleted after 30 days.

Delete all your data (in the app)

1. Open Frndo and go to Settings.
2. Choose [TBD: exact label of the delete-data option in Settings].
3. Confirm.

This permanently deletes, from our servers:

• your conversations with Frndo;
• everything Frndo remembers about you: memories, your profile, reflections, and product search history;
• your Diary entries;
• the copies of your calendar events;
• your location;
• any Health data;
• your device permission records and avatar customizations.

It does not delete your account itself: your sign-in details (your Apple account identifier, name, and email address) and your app preferences remain, so you can keep using Frndo with a fresh start. A few records are also kept for a limited time:

• diagnostic copies of recent conversations, deleted automatically within 30 days, and copies of the instructions Frndo used for a reply, which can include your profile and location, deleted within 180 days; [TBD: confirm whether these should be erased immediately instead]
• security and audit logs, which record events such as sign-ins and the fact that you deleted your data, kept for [TBD: audit log retention period].

Settings stored only on your iPhone are removed when you delete the app.

Delete your account

We're adding a way to delete your whole account from inside the app. [TBD: in-app account deletion steps, once released.]

Until then, you can ask us to delete your account:

1. Email privacy@frndo.app with the subject "Delete my account".
2. Send it from the email address on your account. If you signed in with "Hide My Email", tell us that, and we'll help you confirm the account is yours.
3. We'll confirm we received it, verify the request, and delete your account and all the data listed above within [TBD: deletion timeframe, for example 30 days]. We'll email you when it's done.

When your account is deleted, everything Frndo knows about you is removed and can't be recovered. We may keep a minimal record that a deletion happened, and any information the law requires us to keep, for as long as the law requires. [TBD: list any legally required retention.] Copies in our backups are deleted as the backups expire, within [TBD: backup retention period].

You can use this page to request deletion even if you no longer have the app installed.

Stop using Sign in with Apple

You can also stop using your Apple account with Frndo: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Sign-In & Security (or Password & Security on older iOS versions), Sign in with Apple, choose Frndo, and tap Stop using Apple ID. This stops future sign-ins. It does not delete your data from our servers, so delete your data or account as described above first.
