Acceptable Use Policy

Status: draft for legal review. Effective date: [TBD: effective date]. Last updated: October 8, 2026.

Frndo is a private, one-to-one companion, so most of this comes down to one idea: use it for yourself, and don't use it to hurt anyone. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

Frndo is a friend, not a romantic partner

Frndo is designed to stay a friend. It avoids flirting and sexual content, and if a conversation heads that way it will gently steer it somewhere else. Please don't try to push it past that.

Don't use Frndo to

  • break the law, or help anyone else break it;
  • seek, create, or share any sexual content involving a minor. We take this seriously and may report it to the authorities where the law requires;
  • plan, threaten, or encourage violence or harm against another person;
  • harass, stalk, threaten, or bully anyone, including by using Frndo's replies to do it;
  • create content that sexualizes real people without their consent, or that defames anyone;
  • get detailed help making weapons, explosives, or dangerous substances, or attacking computer systems;
  • impersonate another person, or pretend that Frndo's replies came from a person or an official source;
  • share another person's private information, such as their health details or address, without a lawful reason.

Don't misuse the service

  • Don't try to get around Frndo's safeguards, for example with prompts designed to make it ignore its rules.
  • Don't access the service by automated means, such as bots or scripts, or scrape it.
  • Don't reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract the source code or AI models behind Frndo, except where the law allows.
  • Don't interfere with, overload, or try to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other people's accounts.
  • Don't use Frndo to build a competing product, or to train other AI models.
  • Don't resell or share access to your account.

If you're struggling

Talking about hard things, including thoughts of self-harm, is never a violation of this policy. Frndo is there to listen. If you are in danger, please also reach out to people who can help in person: see AI and Safety for crisis lines.

What happens if this policy is broken

If we believe someone has broken this policy, we may limit features, suspend the account, or close it, depending on how serious it is. Where the law requires, we may report illegal content to the authorities. Where reasonable, we'll tell you what we did and why, and you can ask us to reconsider by writing to legal@frndo.app.

Reporting a concern

If you see Frndo say something harmful, or you're worried about how someone is using it, email [TBD: safety or support contact address].
